Welcome, Survivors

Survive the End. Build What Comes Next.

The world ended faster than anyone expected.

It did not happen in a single day. There was no warning siren, no final chance to say goodbye, no miraculous rescue waiting just beyond the horizon. Civilization collapsed beneath the weight of fear, desperation, and the dead that refused to stay buried.

Across America, cities have fallen silent.

New York stands as a concrete graveyard, its streets overflowing with the infected and the desperate few still clinging to life. Small towns sit abandoned under martial law, communities have fractured into isolated enclaves, and survivors are forced to make impossible choices every single day.

But humanity endures.

From fortified homesteads in the Midwest… to hidden island communities fighting to survive against overwhelming odds… to wandering survivors carving their own path through the ruins of the old world… people are still fighting for something greater than survival.

Hope.

No Way Home is a character-driven, post-apocalyptic roleplay experience set in a brutal world inspired by The Walking Dead. Here, every decision matters. Every bullet counts. Every supply run carries risk. The dead are dangerous… but the living can be far worse.

Will you help defend an established settlement?

Will you scavenge the remains of fallen cities?

Will you build something new from the ashes of civilization?

Or will the world take everything from you before you ever find your place in it?

The roads are broken.

The world is gone.

There is No Way Home.

Only what you build next.

Posted on Sun Jul 28th, 2024 @ 1:10pm by in Sim Announcement

Hello, Survivors!

Thanks to the efforts of Ray (who writes for Alonzo Blazevic), we have a new and improved manifest that better fits the needs of our particular sim.

We're organized by families and those who are single are listed under 'The Unattached'. If your situation changes and you become part of someone's family, then we'll switch you around.

Suffixes:
========
Military designations are no longer going to be shown on the manifest and you'll see that they've been removed for you -- we're doing that for two reasons. One, it's no longer a part of our reality and two,…

Congratulations, Survivors!

We started our first episode, Bangor or Bust, Saturday, 15 April 2023. Tomorrow, nearly a year later, we will finally finish it. For those who like stats, we have, as a group, written 332 posts for this episode, 34 of them in the past month. And now, nearly a year later, its time to move on. There will be a short post tomorrow explaining what happens to the safe zone and after that, Bangor or Bust will be closed for posting and we'll be moving into the new episode (I'm thinking about "Winter is Coming" as a title).…

Hello, Survivors,

Been having a couple days of good weather here, sort of like the first promise of Spring, and its been lovely. Also, Watson, my cat, discovered Cat TV (its a YouTube channel) and he loves it. For a cat who absolutely refuses to go anywhere near the outside world, he's been mighty brave swatting at those birds.

Sim Statistics

No changes in the number of writers this month so we're still holding at eight. We are losing a couple of NPCs though -- Courtney, Jordan, Father Dominic I believe. Not sure about Bao (been quiet since the delivery)…

Hello, Survivors,

Okay, its been an embarrassingly long time since I've done this so, let me start by offering my profound apologies. Had a bit of a Star Trek sim burnout going on and a lot of things fell by the wayside. Things are better now and I'm totally back.

Sim Statistics

We added two survivors, Stephen Wolff and Reuben Baptiste. That brought us up to nine writers. Course, Stephen dropped out again so we have added one new writer -- which means two service dogs and three military personnel. The world has never seemed safer, eh?

You know, we…

Mission: Safe Harbor
Posted on Sat Jul 18th, 2026 @ 7:00pm by Pine Hollow Leader Amythyst & Department Leader Briar Maddox & Deputy Leader John ("Dodger") Smith & Deputy Leader George Brooks

The sun had nearly vanished beyond the trees when Kira began growling. Low. Deep. Wrong. Amy looked up instantly. Across the pasture, Brutus had already stopped moving. Rigid. Watching the tree line. The entire herd shifted uneasily. Tilly stamped once. Atlas lifted his massive head. Then came the sound. Branches snapping. One.
Then another. Then dozens. Austin was first to react.

“Movement.”

Amy was already moving toward the fence. Her stomach dropped.

Figures. Too many. Shambling through the trees beyond the western pasture. Twenty. Thirty. More still coming behind them. Patrick swore quietly. Andrew stared.

“Oh no…”

The herd reacted…

Woodland Grove – Eight Miles Inland

The journey had gone better than Amy expected. That thought alone felt dangerous. For nearly eight hours the caravan had crawled steadily through the darkness, wagon wheels creaking softly against old cracked asphalt and uneven dirt, the entire column moving slower than any of them had liked—but moving. That was what mattered. They had actually left. Behind them, Gull’s Refuge was gone. Leah’s farmstead was gone. For the first time in months… There was no going back.

The cattle had performed better than Amy had dared hope. Each wagon team had settled into rhythm…

Mission: Winter's hope
Posted on Fri Jul 10th, 2026 @ 10:11pm by Caretaker Thea Matthews & Senior Medic Roman Quinn

It was the morning after the big winter storm and Roman was on his way to check on Thea. With her due date rapidly approaching he wanted to make sure nothing unexpected suddenly popped up.

He also had another reason. Rene and Vienna's news about getting married and spurred him on and to his decision. He reached into his pocket and felt the ruby signet ring his mother and father had given him for his birthday but now it was about to serve another role.

He reached Thea's front door and gave it a firm rapping as he waited for…

The first Storm came howling in mid afternoon, and Serena was glad everyone was gathered in the house.

It was crowded. The dogs lay on the floor in the main living area, warmed by the wood fire. And people milled around the rooms watching as the wind raged and snow fell in flurries.

“The weather certainly changed” Vienna stood looking out of the window before turning back. She looked towards René wondering when would be the best time to share their news with everyone.

René was happy that Vienna had said yes to his question during their picnic earlier. While…

Sorting the Teams

The barn had grown quieter as evening settled outside. Not silent.
Never silent. Outside, fifteen head of cattle moved slowly through the pasture, shapes shifting against the last gold light of sunset.
Inside, six wagons stood waiting in a long uneven line. Loaded. Everyone's things were in there. All the children's backpacks, the supplies and food from Safe Harbor and Gulls. Leah's wheelchair, her extra crutches and everything they could get from her house. Elena had stored her own things as well.

Ready. For the first time since leaving New York, everything they owned no longer sat…

Evening

I’m writing this by flashlight, tucked up in the attic room of the farmhouse, where the roof creaks when the wind shifts. The others are asleep — or pretending to be. I think Patrick is still whispering with Andrew, but I don’t have the energy to check. My back hurts, my knees are sore, and I smell like cow. Which, weirdly, isn’t the worst thing anymore. I will grab a shower soon.

We found cattle today. Actual, real, living cows. In the woods.

Three of them — two big and one calf, all half-wild but not dangerous. They were…

The sun has set, and the quiet is settling into the walls — or as quiet as it ever gets with this many people under one roof. The fire in the hearth is down to glowing coals. Dinner’s been cleaned up. Most of us are asleep, and the rest are pretending to be. I should be too. But sleep feels like a fragile thing lately. Like if I let myself slip too deep, I might miss something vital.

We had our first full…

Definitely official, even if Sandwich will not admit it. He has an attachment for Thea. At the evening meal and campfire meeting I caught him dividing his plate in half and giving Thea the the half he separated. He then ate half of his portion and feed Kenny the other half. I plan to say something to him, I'll offer to feed Kenny half my food share if he insist on giving Thea half of his food share. I am amazed how he treats Thea, almost like our mother, or us girls. He also seems…

Reuben talked with Catalina when she had joined with him in helping the group. During the stops for the evening on the way to Hale's property Catalina filled him in on how the ranch and family were doing. Apparently their father was quick to realize the situation and started the process of fortifying the ranch, He had the hands bring the cattle in closer for the rest of the year and would decide in mid spring what to do about how to safely graze them. He and the hands also began working on the barb wire around the ranch.
Reuben…

Journal Date: September 13, 2010?

Well found Sandwich, he deviated from his emergency escape route and hookup with a group of survivors. Not sure about the group but they appear to be decent folks. The leader, Hale Stratton, is very similar to Sandwich; dark, brooding and all military. I suspect there is more under the man other than being a Major in the Rangers. I cannot quite sure what it is yet; but never mind that. Sandwich has decided to continue travelling with the group, so I am tagging along as well. He states he will decide what to do…
