Pine Hollow Valley
A Quiet Place with Deep Secrets
Western Maine

Hidden deep within the mountains of western Maine lies Pine Hollow, a broad forested valley almost completely concealed from the outside world.

Before the Fall, Pine Hollow operated as a seasonal resort and working farm. During winter the property became a profitable ski lodge; during the warmer months visitors came for farm stays, fishing, hiking, riding and the quiet isolation of the valley.

Orchards, crop fields, grazing paddocks, barns, greenhouses, guest cabins, a freshwater lake and the main Pine Hollow Lodge filled the valley.

But that is only what Pine Hollow appears to be on the surface.

The Valley

Pine Hollow occupies a wide bowl-shaped valley surrounded by steep, pine-covered mountains. The terrain naturally shields the settlement from wind, distant observation and casual discovery.

Dirt roads and walking paths connect the lodge to the fields, orchards, livestock paddocks, river and lake.

PINE HOLLOW LODGE

The heart of the settlement. The large lodge overlooks the valley and contains communal areas, kitchens, accommodation, storage and operational spaces.

ORCHARDS & FIELDS

Apples, pears, berries, vegetables, grain and hay are grown across the western and south-western portions of the valley.

LIVESTOCK AREA

Large barns, paddocks and poultry areas support cattle, horses, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry.

RIVER & LAKE

A mountain river enters from the north before widening into Pine Hollow Lake, providing drinking water, irrigation and fish.

GUEST CABINS

Six two-storey cabins are scattered between the orchard slopes and the river.

SKI AREA

Two ski lifts climb the surrounding slopes. A small watch structure stands near the top of one of the runs.

Pine Hollow Lodge

The large chalet-style lodge sits on a gentle rise near the centre of the valley. Its position provides clear views across the farmland while keeping the structure above potential floodwater.

Transport & Equipment

Fuel-powered vehicles are conserved whenever possible. Electric, human-powered and animal-powered transportation are favoured for everyday movement through the valley.

Available equipment includes electric golf carts, bicycles, utility carts, tractors, a farm truck, UTV, skid steer, mini excavator, rowboats, canoes, kayaks and an electric fishing boat.

Access & Security

THE RAIL TUNNEL

The old branch railway passes through the southern mountain ridge and emerges directly into Pine Hollow.

Outside the valley, collapsed rails, fallen trees and debris make the former line appear abandoned.

Inside the tunnel, a concealed barrier can close the only known land route into the valley.

Beneath Pine Hollow

Pine Hollow Resort was never the entire purpose of the property.

Hidden beneath the lodge and surrounding utility structures is a secure underground complex originally constructed for government personnel during a major emergency.
